Virginia State Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy Endorses Democrat Margaret Angela Franklin in VA-07

WOODBRIDGE, VA – Today, Supervisor Margaret Angela Franklin announced that Virginia State Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy has endorsed her campaign for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.

“Senator Carroll Foy is an effective legislator and has represented our community well in Richmond. I'm thrilled to receive her endorsement,” said Supervisor Franklin. “This endorsement is the latest and biggest example yet of our campaign’s growing strength in the district.”

Statement from Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy:

“Margaret is the type of dynamic, trailblazing leader who can deliver real change while defending the progress we’ve made.  In an election with abortion rights and our very democracy on the line, we need the strongest possible candidate to win an open tossup district that could decide control of the House. I’ve been so impressed with all that Margaret has accomplished as Supervisor in just a few short years, and I’m proud to call her my friend. As I’ve followed the race to replace Congresswoman Spanberger, I know and trust that Margaret has the ability to win and represent us well in Congress.”

Senator Carroll Foy joins Congresswoman Alma Adams, former Congressman Al Lawson, fellow Prince William County Supervisor Victor Angry, Stafford County Supervisor Tinesha Allen, and Dumfries Town Council Member Shaun Peet, who have all endorsed Supervisor Franklin.

About Margaret:

Margaret is an experienced public servant who was elected to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors in 2019 after winning a competitive primary election. She is the first African American woman to be elected to that body. Previously, Margaret served as a senior staffer on Capitol Hill. As Supervisor, she has created a Child Advocacy Center to service victims of child abuse and led the charge to create more affordable housing.
